Starting in London, covering just over 180 miles, this 3 day route takes us through some glorious undulating countryside on route to the ferry from Newhaven to Dieppe. Once ‘French side’, we cycle along quiet country cycle lanes, through traditional market towns with views of the rolling green hills of Northern France. Get ready for a fantastic ride – the tarmac in France is superb, and cycling is the nation’s favourite sport, so don’t be surprised if the locals cheer you on!
Whether you are a regular cyclist or simply a novice, as long as you are willing to train, then this event is perfect for you as Chapeau Events cater for all levels of ability.
The pièce de résistance is ultimately the spectacular view of the 324 metre Eiffel Tower, marking the rides overwhelming finish and certainly evoking a huge sense of achievement, not to mention those unforgettable memories. The days in the saddle are bearable and upon reaching Paris and celebrating our achievements in this fabulous capital, any saddle soreness soon wears off!

4 Days (3 cycling)
Ride Day 1 – London area to Dieppe
Approximate cycling distance 100km (63 miles)
Your challenge begins from an early start, after registration and bike checks from our experienced mechanic(s), as you head out of London south towards Newhaven.
Once through the outskirts of London we pass through quaint villages and towns; Chipstead, Nutfield, Smallfield and over Turner’s Hill to Ardingly and Haywards Heath before finally reaching our destination and onward ferry crossing at Newhaven, where we can relax and have something to eat.
Once disembarked, we have a short ride to our hotel, your base for the evening for some well earned rest!
Ride Day 2 – Dieppe to Beauvais
Approximate cycling distance 104km (65 miles)
After a hearty breakfast we head out of Dieppe remembering to ride on the right hand side of the road. After a smooth, relatively flat start along the ‘Avenue Verte’ we then encounter a few undulations as we pedal our way through the stunning French countryside and rolling landscapes of Northern France. After passing through some typical French villages we welcome a delicious Chapeau lunch.
Once re-fuelled, our journey continues as we ride through the charming towns of Serqueux and Songeons before reaching our final destination for the night in Beauvais; extensively damaged in WW11, yet remains a town of beauty with a stunning castle, cathedral and wonderful chateaus.
Ride Day 3 – Beauvais to Paris
Approximate cycling distance 96km (60 miles)
After a good night’s rest, we leave the hotel for our final day of cycling, heading south through beautiful undulating terrain passing through village after village in rural France.
We continue south towards the tranquillity setting of the Natural Regional Park Oise, a natural beauty spot boasting three forests. Cycling on through more quiet quaint villages we soon reach the outskirts of Paris where we will start to spot the familiar sight and infamous landmark of the Eiffel Tower.
As we cycle through the sometimes crowded Parisian streets, with car horns sounding our arrival, we pedal passed the Arc de Triomphe, up the Champs Elysees and on to our grand finish at the base of the Eiffel Tower…a truly fitting end to a challenging journey!

This event is completely achievable for all levels of experience, whether you are a novice, intermediate or experienced cyclist, as long as you are committed to putting in the relevant training needed depending on your level. Chapeau rates this event a difficulty level 3 out of 8, which we class as “moderate” with longer days of saddle time and occasional steep descents/ascents on day one. You will be in the saddle for upward of 60 miles a day for 3 consecutive days, so you should ensure, as a minimum that you are comfortable riding a 50 mile day and have achieved this regularly before you leave for the trip. The profile on ride days mainly flat but undulating on occassions, so you will need to include some hilly rides in your training, especially if you are a novice cyclist. Please contact us on the email below if you would have any questions regarding training tips. We design our challenges so that everyone can go at their own pace; this is not a race.
